Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Meridian Advance collects when you apply for a salary-backed payday loan, why we need it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

1

Who we are

Meridian Advance (Private) Limited is the data controller for the information you submit through this application form. We are a payday loan provider registered in Zimbabwe and we operate independently of your employer.

2

Information we collect

Personal details (full name, national identity number, date of birth, mobile number, email address and residential address); employment and income details (employer, employee or payroll number, job title, start date and monthly net salary); bank account details for disbursement; and your guarantor’s name, relationship, mobile number and identity number.

We also record the loan amount and term you request, the fee quotation shown to you, the declarations you accept, and technical data such as the date and time of submission.

3

Why we use it

To verify your identity, to assess affordability against your stated net salary, to decide your application, to disburse approved funds to your bank account, to instruct and reconcile monthly salary deductions, to contact you or your guarantor about the loan, and to meet our legal, regulatory and anti-money-laundering obligations.

4

Who we share it with

Your employer’s payroll function receives only the information needed to set up and remit your salary deduction: your name, employee number, the monthly deduction amount and the deduction period. Your employer does not receive your bank details or your guarantor details, and is not told the outcome of any application it does not need to deduct for.

We may also share information with our banking partners, identity and credit reference providers, professional advisers, and regulators or courts where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.

5

Your guarantor

By naming a guarantor you confirm you have their permission to give us their contact and identity details. We will contact them to confirm they accept the guarantee before we rely on it.

6

Security and retention

Data submitted through this form is protected in transit by 256-bit encryption and access is restricted to staff who need it. We keep application records for the period required by Zimbabwean financial and tax legislation, after which they are securely destroyed.

7

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or ask us to delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep. You may also withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Requests are handled within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version shown here is the version that applies to applications submitted today.
